A body has been found after a huge community search for a vulnerable but ‘gentle’ man.

Shahab Uddin, 40, was last seen nine days ago and was reported missing by his family after he vanished in the early hours of Wednesday, 13 August.

Shahab was well known in the Loughborough area and hundreds of volunteers joined the search using drones to search countryside surrounding Quorn.

Fears grew with Shahab described as vulnerable, having learning difficulties and being reliant on medication and had left his phone behind.

On Thursday, officers announced they had found his body in an area near to the A6, by the One Ash roundabout in Loughborough.

The death is currently being treated as unexplained and enquiries remain ongoing.
