IONIA COUNTY, Mich. — Michigan State Police (MSP) troopers found a missing elderly man with dementia on Wednesday evening in Orleans.
Troopers said around 7 p.m. they were dispatched to a home in the 900 block of W. Long Lake Road for a missing 80-year-old man who had dementia.
Before troopers were called, the man had been missing without his required medication for two hours while his family searched for him.
MSP aviation, known as "Trooper 2," was requested to help find the man.
Trooper 2 found the man lying in a wooded area, and ground units were directed to him and provided necessary medical care.
"Excellent job by all involved and our eyes in the sky!" MSP said.
