AKRON, Ohio (WOIO) - A 16-year-old was injured during a shooting in Akron on Thursday afternoon.
According to a release from Akron Police, officers responded to the 200 block of Opportunity Parkway for a shooting at around 11:52 a.m.
When officers arrived, they found a 16-year-old boy who was minorly injured.
The teen told officers that he was walking eastbound when an SUV pulled up and a man dressed in all black clothing got out and started shooting at him.
Police said the 16-year-old then returned fire with his own gun.
The man from the SUV got back in the car and fled in an unknown direction.
The teen was treated at the scene and then taken to the Summit County Juvenile Detention Facility on weapons charges.
