ATLANTA — Support continues to pour in for the family of Officer David Rose, who was killed in the line of duty during the August 8 shooting attack on CDC headquarters.

As of Thursday morning, more than $556,000 has been raised on the official GoFundMe, organized by his wife.

Officer Rose, 33, was the first to respond when a gunman opened fire on the CDC’s campus. He was shot and killed while protecting others, just months after graduating from the DeKalb County Police Academy.

His funeral is scheduled for Friday, August 22 at 11 a.m. at First Baptist Church Atlanta, located at 4400 North Peachtree Rd. The service is open to the public. The officer was killed on Aug. 8 during an attack on the CDC.
