(Gray News) – President Donald Trump said during an interview Thursday that he plans to join law enforcement on the streets of Washington, DC.
The President plans to hit the pavement Thursday night, but details are still being worked out.
“I’m going to be going out tonight, I think, with the police, and with the military, of course,” the president told radio host Todd Starnes Thursday, CNN reported.
Since Aug. 7, when Trump began surging federal agents into the city, there have been 630 arrests, including 251 people who are in the country illegally, according to the White House.
Trump has been ratcheting up the pressure since then, seizing control of the D.C. police department on Aug. 11 and deploying more National Guard troops, mostly from Republican-led states.
