One person was gunned down inside the bustling Scarborough Town Centre on Thursday afternoon.
Toronto Police say the deadly shooting in the mall near McCowan rd. and Hwy. 401 occurred around 1:50 p.m.
Officers responded and “located a person with injuries,” police said in a post on X. “The male victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
The shooting victim is believed to have been found in a washroom near the lower-level food court.
There is a heavy police presence in the area as the investigation is ongoing.
No further details were immediately available and no description of the shooter or shooters has been released.
This is the city’s 27th murder so far this year – and 15 of those homicide victims have been killed by gunfire.
