A 16-year-old girl from Calgary has died following a jet ski accident in Ontario. The incident occurred on August 14 on Lake St. Clair, near Couture Beach in the municipality of Lakeshore.

Emergency responders, including the Lakeshore Ontario Provincial Police, Essex Windsor Emergency Medical Services, and Lakeshore Fire Rescue, were dispatched to the scene after reports of a marine collision involving a personal watercraft.

First responders, aided by local residents, rescued four individuals from the water. A 17-year-old girl from Essex County was taken to the hospital but was later pronounced dead due to her injuries. The Calgary teen was also transported to a hospital and subsequently airlifted to a trauma center with life-threatening injuries.

In addition to the two fatalities, two other females, aged 15 and 17, were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A GoFundMe campaign has been established to support the family of the deceased teen. The campaign revealed that her parents, Dan and Alicia Sussums-Foster, were informed of their daughter Ava's involvement in the tragic accident while she was visiting family in Ontario.
