SOUTH WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. — Each year, 20 umpires are chosen to help during the games at the Little League World Series. Some are from around the United States, and some are from other countries. Ludovic Meiller is an umpire from France. It's his first year at the series.

"I come from France and it's the very first time that a French umpire can go to Williamsport in the World Series, so I'm very proud of it, really," said Ludovic Meiller, Belgentier, France.

The umpire's job is to look for a fair game on the field. They are calling ball strikes, ace outs, and managing the game. For Phillip Levesque, from Williamsport, this is his second time being an umpire for the series; his first was back in 2022.
