It’s a toss-up whether a Democrat or a Republican will win Nevada’s 2026 race for attorney general — but that could change if Sparks city attorney Wes Duncan, a Republican, jumps in.

This assessment comes from Sabato’s Crystal Ball, a project of the Center for Politics at the University of Virginia.

It’s a nonpartisan political analysis and forecasting newsletter founded in 2002, and it’s named after Larry Sabato, a four-time Emmy-winning political scientist.

The Aug. 21 Crystal Ball newsletter looked at the 31 states holding elections next year for attorney general and rated them on whether they’re expected to go Republican or Democratic or are toss-ups.
