SAYRE, Pa. (WETM) – A Gillett man has been sentenced to serve time in county jail after officials say he caused a disturbance and then assaulted police in Sayre.

Andrew R. Langeland, 20, was sentenced to a minimum of 30 days in the Bradford County Correctional Facility, followed by five years of court supervision, after he was found guilty of aggravated assault (second-degree felony), as stated in a release from the Bradford County District Attorney's Office.

Officials say Langeland was sentenced for the crime after an incident that occurred at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre in February of 2024. At this time, officials say Langeland fought with police who were called to the hospital for a reported disturbance that was caused by Langeland.
