DOTHAN, Ala (WDHN) -- One of the suspects in the murder of a Newville teen is headed to prison after a recent plea deal.
Henry County District Attorney Russ Goodman says Sharif Moore pleaded guilty to one count of murder and was sentenced to 25 years in prison.
The sentence was brought down on Thursday.
Moore was arrested by the U.S. Marshals and Dothan Police in 2022 and charged with the death of Brittney Corbitt.
19-year-old Corbitt was shot and killed in a drive-by shooting in 2022 on Ozark Road in front of her grandfather’s house in Newville, after an argument up the road between two groups of people in two separate cars.
When police arrived on the scene, there was a large crowd, and it was described as "a very chaotic scene."
