Super subs Dante Polvara and Ester Sokler came to Jimmy Thelin 's rescue and ensured that Aberdeen go to Bucharest with Europa League qualification very much in their grasp. ‌

The Dons had gone 2-0 down to 10 man FCSB but fought back with two goals in the last half-hour to salvage a draw. ‌

The Reds could even have won it but Polvara was denied a second in stoppage time. A first appearance in the Europa League group stages is still very much alive. ‌

It now comes down to next week’s clash in Bucharest. Yes, it will be different. FCSB will be at home, it will be hot and hostile but the Romanians are no great shakes.
