Two infants tragically lost their lives within hours at the same hospital due to "lethal" contaminated washing up liquid, sparking warnings about the "increasingly multi-antibiotic resistant" threat. ‌

An inquiry is currently in progress at San Maurizo Hospital in Italy following these heartbreaking fatalities. The premature babies contracted Serratia marcescens - a deadly bacterium that spreads easily in hospital environments. ‌

The babies, born just three weeks ago, each weighed less than two pounds at the time of their passing. One was delivered during the 23rd week of pregnancy , while the other arrived during the 27th week. ‌
