Authorities are responding to an active shooter situation at Villanova University in Pennsylvania as the school welcomes students back for the new academic year.
Police in Radnor Township, where the school is located, posted on X at 4:52 p.m. Thursday that they were responding to an active shooter on the university's campus and urged students and nearby residents to shelter in place.
On its website , Villanova warned students specifically to stay away from Scarpa Hall, where the law school is sited, and urged anyone on campus to move to a secure location and then lock and barricade their doors.
Radnor police advised community members at 5:47 p.m. to stay in place unless guided elsewhere by a police officer. Police said that while the situation remained active, no victims had yet b
