BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - UVM’s national men’s soccer champs return to the pitch Thursday night.

The Cats are back on Virtue Field for their opening game. It’s against Sacred Heart.

And their fans are excited.

Many lined up when the gates opened around 5 p.m.

There are lots of changes to the fan experience at Virtue this year. Beer is now being served, and there’s more merchandise and more food options.

Coming off the UVM national championship and the Vermont Green championship, fans are ready to keep winning on the field.

“We were big fans of the FC Green. And we didn’t want to see going to soccer stop, so we said let’s go to these, some of the same players,” said Judy Ingals of Essex.
