In June, the Ladies and Gentlemen’s Club in Grantville created an online fundraiser to help support its activities in the community.
“That was a decision of the committee, because we want to do a lot of things,” said Dee Berry, one of the committee members and the creator of the fundraiser.
The committee only received one donation that month, but Berry said she’s not disappointed.
“We’re out there competing with cancer and people who have lost everything in a fire,” Berry said. “If somebody gives us a dollar, we’ll be happy.”
