LINCOLN, Neb. (KLKN) — An inmate who went missing from the Community Corrections Center-Lincoln in December was arrested Thursday.
Erica Gonzales, 34, was taken into custody by the Omaha Police Department and booked into the Douglas County Jail.
Gonzales went AWOL on Dec. 29, when she did not return from work.
She started her sentence in March 2023 and was set to serve two to five years for shoplifting in Douglas County.
Community custody is the lowest custody level and the least restrictive facility.
Inmates are allowed to participate in work opportunities and attend school and religious services with prior approval and without direct supervision.
