AVON, Ohio -- A carbon monoxide alarm forced an evacuation at Avon High School on Thursday morning, officials said.

Avon Fire Department and Avon Police Department both responded to the scene. Columbia Gas and the fire department gave the building the “all clear” and allowed students and staff to resume their normal school day around 10 a.m., according to the police department’s Facebook page.

Avon High School is located at 37545 Detroit Road in Avon and has a total of 1,428 students, according to U.S. News and World Reports.
