A man suspected of gunning down three people in the unincorporated Lake Los Angeles area south of Lancaster was charged Thursday with three counts of murder.
Axel Trevino, 32, of Lake Los Angeles, is also facing a special-circumstance allegation of multiple murders, along with allegations that he personally and intentionally discharged a firearm.
The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office is expected to decide later whether to seek the death penalty or life in prison without the possibility of parole against him.
Trevino — who made his first court appearance Thursday in Lancaster in connection with the charges — was ordered to be held without bail while awaiting arraignment Sept. 4.
He was arrested Tuesday afternoon in connection with the shootings that occurred around 4:45 p.m.
