PITTSBURGH —

A family in the Baldwin-Whitehall School District intends to file a lawsuit against the school district and First Student Transportation.

An attorney for the family said the family's daughter was injured twice in two separate accidents on First Student bus vans because of negligence by its drivers, the latest in May, when the driver was found intoxicated during a crash on the 16th Street Bridge . Advertisement

Police say it was Jeffrey Irwin's third DUI.

"Baldwin-Whitehall assured them last year there would be alternate transportation and they would no longer use First Student," said attorney Katie Killion, representing the family with Kontos, Mengine, Killion and Hassen.

However, Killion said First Student is still the designated means of transportation.
