Since it began last fall, a special B.C. Supreme Court hearing into the Surrey Six gangland murders has heard from high-level investigators on the file and one of the convicted killers himself.

Former Red Scorpion gangster Cody Haevischer is fighting to get a stay of proceedings on all charges more than a decade after his trial ended in first-degree murder convictions for himself and co-accused Matthew Johnston in the slayings of six in a Surrey highrise.

On Oct. 19, 2007, young drug traffickers Corey Lal, his brother Michael, Eddie Narong and Ryan Bartolomeo, were shot to death, as were bystanders Ed Schellenberg and Christopher Mohan.
