The city's quick response to UTC's active shooting threat

Law enforcement quickly took action to ensure everyone was safe in the UTC Library, University Center, and Fletcher Hall. We have recently received an update that some Hamilton County Schools were also on lockdown, such as Orchard Knob Elementary and Middle Schools, Battle Academy, and Snow Hill Elementary. Other schools include Tommie F. Brown Academy, Normal Park Upper and Lower, CCA, Howard Connect, Howard, Calvin Donaldson Elementary, Brainerd, and CSAS. Director of Communications Adison Lambert says, “All schools have come off secure status.” As a recap, the University of Tennessee -- Chattanooga lifted its lockdown, and students and non-essential workers were able to leave campus for the remainder of the day.
