SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - At their last meeting, the prison task force held firm on a price tag hundreds of millions of dollars less than many estimations.
Some good news for fiscal conservatives around the state. The two firms responsible for the construction of what could be the future of the men’s penitentiary said they believe they can reduce the cost to within the task force’s budget.
“You know you might say ‘where’s the beef’ kind of comment, ‘where’s, what did we lose kind of thing’, we don’t want to say ‘get a building that doesn’t do what we need it to do,’ but they told us ‘we can still build ya a building so just some questions there about what we’re going to windup with,” said Representative Greg Jamison (R) Sioux Falls.
