THE BRONX, New York (WABC) -- Nearly a dozen people were arrested in a massive marijuana bust in the Bronx on Thursday, according to officials.

New York City Deputy Mayor for Public Safety Kaz Daughtry said officials recovered more than $5 million worth of illegal cannabis products from a home located at 522 Timpson Pl.

He says an illegal cannabis business was operating out of the home.

"Unlicensed cannabis operations like this pose a significant health risk," Daughtry said. "They could be potentially selling unregulated and untested product that can make people sick and also cause overdoses."

The joint investigation led by the New York City Sheriff led to the arrests of11 people, ranging in ages from 22 to 65 years old, and the seizure of about 2,000 pounds of cannabis products, $20,
