After a summer of jokes, criticism and golf scores being put under a microscope, Hugh Freeze and Auburn football caught their big fish on the recruiting trail.
Bralan Womack, a five-star safety from Flowood, Mississippi, announced his pledge Thursday night, making him the lone five-star recruit in the 2026 class to choose the Tigers. That makes him Auburn’s highest-ranked commitment in the class by a large margin, shooting the Tigers up in the team recruiting rankings.
Auburn now ranks 35th in the 247Sports ’ team rankings and 22nd, according to Rivals .
That’s a big jump from early July, a time when Auburn languished in the No. 89 spot, ranking last in the Southeastern Conference and below Group of Five and FCS teams such as Idaho, South Alabama and Texas State, among others.
