With summer winding down and fall right around the corner, one of the most noticeable changes in our daily lives is the earlier arrival of sunsets. With the dog days of summer behind us, daylight has quickly been slipping away.

Right now, we're seeing about 13 hours and 20 minutes of daylight each day. But with the tilt of the Earth shifting us closer towards autumn, we are losing roughly two minutes of daylight daily.

We will lose roughly 2 minutes of daylight every day through November, when the bleeding finally starts to slow.

Today's sunset falls just before 8 pm, at 7:56 pm. By the end of September, we will be watching the sun dip below the horizon before 7. And with the end of Daylight Saving Time in early November, sunsets will suddenly jump even earlier, occurring at 5:15.
