One of NASCAR 's prominent figures, Humpy Wheeler, passed away on August 20 at the age of 86. He was known for his contributions to the sport, best remembered as Charlotte Motor Speedway 's president and general manager. He was a National Motorsports Hall of Fame inductee and won the 2026 NASCAR Hall of Fame Landmark Award for Outstanding Contributions to NASCAR.
