LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - University of Kentucky students are only days away from the first day of classes. When they return, campus police will have new security tools at their disposal.
The new security rollout includes a new mobile police unit and safety app.
“We’ve heard what parents and staff have said over the past year. And a lot of it is we want more visibility from police officers. They want more tools to keep them safe,” said Chief Joe Monroe of the University of Kentucky Police Department.
