LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- A Clark County employee faces charges for allegedly posing as a licensed attorney in cases involving the estates of the deceased, the 8 News Now Investigators have learned.

Jerrell Roberts, 39, of North Las Vegas, faces eight felony charges, including practicing law without a license and perjury, records said. Police arrested Roberts at the Regional Justice Center on Wednesday during a probate hearing.

Roberts is not a licensed attorney, has never applied to become an attorney and has never sat for the Nevada bar exam, Las Vegas Metro police said.

The hearings in question involved at least two probate cases, where judges supervise the process of dividing a person's assets after their death.
