SAUK CITY/PRAIRIE DU SAC, Wis. (WKOW) – A local LGBTQ+ group was denied entry into the Cow Chip Parade but has now been approved to participate after a decision reversal by parade organizers. The group was denied due to a parade policy aimed at avoiding political or "controversial" entries.

"Being who we are is not political. We're just trying to live every day like everybody else," said Jamie Wallace, president of South Central Queers and Equality.

Community members, led by Heather Ceaser, began to speak out after the denial.

"Jamie and I started just conversing back and forth through Facebook. We've never even met, but I let her know that I'm an ally and here to help whatever they need," said Ceaser.

Less than 24 hours later, the Cow Chip Committee reversed the decision.
