VALLEY, Neb. —

Valley voters will have a chance to weigh in on the effort to recall two city leaders this November. The Douglas County Election Commissioner says petitions against Mayor Cindy Grove and city council president John Batcher received enough signatures to trigger a special election.

Omaha's News Leader broke the story earlier this year after Valley citizen Christena Jensen filed those petitions. Jensen alleged that Grove violated open meeting laws, among other complaints. On the petition to recall Batcher, Jensen alleged he has conflicts of interest.

The special election is set for Nov. 4. The Election Commissioner says it will all be done by mail.
