Cedar City’s iconic Providence Center Lighthouse received a fresh coat of paint this week, as a worker spent two days applying red paint to the parts of the structure that had faded.
“We only painted the two bottom red stripes,” said Jed Roper, managing member of 3 Ropes Painting , based in St. George.
Roper said his employee, who did not wish to be named, spent Tuesday painting the upper stripe by himself using a boom lift. Then, on Wednesday, he painted the lower area using extension ladders.
Roper said the company collaborated with Children’s Dental of Southern Utah to do the project at little cost, with 3 Ropes donating the cost of the paint and the use of the boom lift.
