SAN DIEGO (FOX5/KUSI) — Senior citizens got to show off their talents on Wednesday in Serving Seniors’ 13th annual “Senior Idol.”
Serving Seniors is a local non-profit with the mission of assisting low-income and homeless senior citizens. The organization helps provide meals, housing, social services and even hosts entertainment like talent shows.
Melinda Forstey, president and CEO of the organization, said that this year’s show featured 10 contestants, all 60 years of age or older.
The competition showcased singers, musicians, writers, dancers, a baton twirler and more.
“This is an event that seniors, staff and volunteers look forward to all year round,” Forstey said.
