One of the biggest fires in Arizona's history has beat against America's most famous natural landmark for most of the summer. The Dragon Bravo fire along the Grand Canyon's North Rim originally broke out on July 4 and has led to trail closures since July 13 due to hazardous conditions. After a month and a half, trails along the South Rim are finally reopening ahead of the busy Labor Day weekend.
The North Rim has been ravaged by two fires, the White Sage Fire and the Dragon Bravo Fire. The fires, started by lightning strikes and strengthened by hot, dry conditions around the canyon, closed the North Rim and burned down one of the Grand Canyon's most iconic attractions , the Grand Canyon Lodge.
