Amtrak's written and unwritten rules continue to cause a stir among passengers. Its new three-hour lounge rules have been called "inconsistent," while passengers continue to argue that Amtrak doesn't follow its own unwritten conduct rules . Employees have been bashed for seat hogging in both the main areas and in café carts.

Truthfully, seat hogging is taking place throughout the Amtrak trains. During the summer, we are starting to see a greater crackdown on the "unwritten rule." Some passengers are embracing the scolding, while others are left unsure as to what the actual rule is.
