They hid their plates, but couldn’t hide from justice.

Two Vancouver men on BMW S1000rr sport bikes in Vancouver had their rides impounded and were levied heavy fines for an afternoon of aggressive and illegal riding earlier this week. They had also installed hinges on their licence plate holder to allow it to be flipped up and unable to be read.

A B.C. highway patrol cruiser watched the riders cross highway dividers, drive over painted medians, and lane-split through traffic without signalling, all the while with their plates concealed, the officer said.

They were eventually pulled over in heavy traffic near the Ironworkers Memorial Bridge.

“The riders tried to bend their licence plate mounts back to vertical and pretend they were that way the whole time,” said RCMP Cpl. Michael McLau
