Los Angeles County Inland Coast including Downtown Los Angeles, Eastern Santa Monica Mountains Recreational area, Santa Ynez Mountains Western Range and Santa Ynez Mountains Eastern Range are included in an updated extreme heat warning issued by the National Weather Service on Friday at 8:55 a.m. The warning is in effect until Saturday Aug. 23, at 9 p.m.

“Dangerously hot conditions with temperatures up to 98 degrees,” can be expected according to the NWS Los Angeles/Oxnard CA. “There is a chance that an advisory or warning will be needed on Sunday.”

“There is a high risk for dangerous heat illness for anyone, especially for the very young, the very old, those without air conditioning, and those active outdoors,” according to the NWS.
