TRAVERSE CITY — The Grand Traverse County Department of Public Works is trying to unravel the source of a sewer back-up last month that caused tens of thousands of dollars in damage to several residences in Garfield Township.
The county Board of Public Works on Thursday approved a contract of up to $16,900 with the local engineering firm Gourdie-Fraser Inc. to perform a camera inspection of 8,000 feet of sewer main and more than 30 manholes between Traverse City West Senior High on North Long Lake Road to the Heritage Estates subdivision off Zimmerman Road.
