The word ‘woke’ is dead and conservatives have blood on their hands, Fox News pundit and right-wing columnist Caroline Downey has claimed, blaming an overuse of the term. Her comments referred to the logo redesign of restaurant chain Cracker Barrel, which has caused outrage among conservative circles and has been branded a woke disappointment. CNN’s NewsNight panel discussed a comment from disgruntled Florida GOP congressman Byron Donalds, who raged, “No one asked for this woke rebrand.
