ANN ARBOR, Mich. — Rod Moore can run and jump and play football again.

In fact, the former all-Big Ten safety has been cleared by the doctors at Michigan. He’s resumed practicing and doing everything required of him.

Now the ball’s in his court when it comes to a return.

“It will be this year, for sure,” Moore told reporters Thursday. “I just don’t know yet.”

Moore was one of six players named captain of the 2025 Michigan football team this week, and one of two to earn the honor in back-to-back years. Yet he continues to recover from a devastating injury suffered in March 2025, when Moore was slowing down on a play in practice only to find out he tore his ACL and meniscus.
