Hurricane Erin will soon become post-tropical as it continues to drift away from the U.S. coast, according to the National Hurricane Center.

As of 8 p.m., Post Tropical cyclone Erin was located well east of the U.S. Mid-Atlantic coast with maximum sustained winds of 90 mph and a minimum central pressure of 957. Latest Forecast

The hurricane is moving northeast at about 33 mph.

Although Erin is weakening, it will still be very dangerous to swim in the water at most U.S. East Coast beaches through this weekend due to life-threatening rip currents and surf.

Beachgoers should follow the guidance of lifeguards and any beach warning flags.
