FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. — Atlanta Falcons starting right tackle Kaleb McGary was carted off the field during the early portion of Wednesday's practice. It appeared to be a lower leg injury. The team came together and huddled around McGary before he was carted off.
The severity of the injury is not known at this time. Elijah Wilkinson took over for McGary at the right tackle spot as practice continued. Wilkinson took the majority of left tackle reps in last Friday's preseason game after playing left guard the week before.
Once practice concluded, a team spokesperson provided the following update on McGary:
"Kaleb McGary was carted off, is receiving an MRI and we'll have an update at the appropriate time."
This news comes after McGary recently signed a contract extension that would keep hi
