Cactus has been a “football school” for a long time, perhaps never more than it is right now.
According to early year enrollment figures, 137 of Cactus’ 1,032 students, or 13% of the school population, are in the football program.While this group of Cobras may lack the marquee names of recent years, those numbers translate to more quality players and less of a need to start kids on both sides of the ball.
“This year, I thik we’re going to be deeper than we’ve ever been,” Coach Brian Belles said. “We can give some of our guys a break, that we haven’t been able to do.”
While 18 of the 48 players listed on the Cobras’ roster are seniors, many were not at Cactus since their freshman year. The class of 2026 has been a bit of a revolving door.
