A weather alert was issued by the National Weather Service on Friday at 5:42 a.m. for dense fog until 8 a.m. for Northern Wayne and Southern Wayne as well as Bradford, Susquehanna, Wyoming, Lackawanna, Luzerne and Pike counties.

"Patchy dense fog has developed this morning and visibilities have been reduced to 1/2 mile or less, especially in valley locations. If traveling, reduce your speed, use your low beam headlights, and leave extra distance ahead of you," according to the weather service.
