LAMAR, S.C. (WBTW) -- A Lamar man was arrested on Wednesday after he allegedly shot and killed a Lee County man, the Lamar Police Department said.

Michael Quintel Abson Jr., 35, was charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime. He is being held without bond at the W. Glenn Campbell Detention Center.

According to an arrest warrant, on Saturday, Abson shot Keith Rouse, 35, of Lynchburg, in the torso at a home on the 100 block of McClain Street. He died after being taken to McLeod hospital.

An incident report shows that officers found an area outside of the home near a pine tree where a fight seemed to have taken place, and a handgun was located nearby in a grassy area. Abson was arrested at the scene.
