JACKSON, Mo. (KFVS) - The Cape Girardeau County Commission has ordered flags at all county-owned buildings to be flown at half-staff from Friday, August 22, until dusk on Sunday, Aug. 24.
The commission said the flying of flags at half-staff is in honor of the passing of longtime Cape Girardeau County Coroner John Clifton .
According to Crain Funeral Home , John Clifton passed away peacefully at his home on August 11.
Visitation for Clifton will be on Friday, Aug. 22, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Crain Funeral Home , followed by a service at 7 p.m. conducted by the Cape Girardeau Elks Lodge 639.
A visitation at the funeral home will start at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 23, followed by the funeral service at 1 p.m.
