CHICAGO, Ill. (KFVS) - The State of Illinois has launched a new resource hub and legal hotline that expands access to legal information and support for LGBTQIA+ individuals across the state.

Governor JB Pritzker announced the new initiative on Thursday evening, August 21, at an event hosted by the Legal Council for Health Justice.

According to the Illinois Department of Human Services, the new initiative called IL Pride Connect offers direct support and accurate legal information by providing real-time information and referrals, including on name and gender marker changes, housing and education rights and access to healthcare and public benefits.
