The Criminal Chamber of the Supreme Court of Justice upheld the 30-year prison sentence imposed on a couple convicted of human trafficking and criminal conspiracy. The trial proved that the defendants recruited young women for sexual exploitation.

This decision is contained in judgment No. 493, drafted by Judge Elsa Gómez and supported by her colleagues Carmen Marisela Castro and Maikel Moreno Pérez.

Those sentenced to 30 years in prison are Iverson Steven Rodríguez and Stephany Andreína Aranguren. A 14-year prison sentence was imposed on Jean Carlos Morillo Sequera, charged in the same case, but for the crimes of illegal immigration, human trafficking, and criminal conspiracy.
