Less than 12 hours after their final preseason game, the New England Patriots have begun the process of trimming down their roster to 53 players.
The first reported cut, according to ESPN’s Mike Reiss , was offensive lineman Tyrese Robinson.
Robinson is a fourth-year offensive guard who has bounced around the league. The former Oklahoma lineman started his career as an undrafted rookie with the Washington Commanders in 2022.
He then had practice squad stints with the Eagles and Vikings before the Patriots. Midway through the 2024 season, New England signed Robinson to its 53-man roster.
Robinson has appeared in one game during his NFL career, playing heavily in the Patriots’ regular-season finale against the Buffalo Bills in 2024.
In 2025, Robinson was in the mix for one of the ba
