UNICOI COUNTY, Tenn. (WJHL) — Three Unicoi County companies that were devastated by Hurricane Helene will receive grants to help retain and retrain employees.
The Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development (TNECD) announced on Friday that the grants total more than $4 million in funding, and each of the three companies will receive at least $1 million to help them keep employees. The grants will also allow the companies to retrain employees who were terminated because of damage to their company's facilities.
The three companies receiving grant funding are Foam Products, PlastiExports and PolyPipe.
